萝莉研究所 was among 150 schools selected to design and build a rocket to launch at the annual . This is a big win for 萝莉研究所 engineering students because this competition is historically reserved for four-year institutions.

The team of thirty-five 萝莉研究所 engineering students have the opportunity to get hands-on experience and perform research in a student led environment.

The rocket, projected to reach a maximum altitude of ten thousand feet, will be carrying a scientific payload to research methods for protecting sensitive organic structures during launch and recover. The current prototype contains sensors monitoring the rocket force while in flight. The team will use this data to ground simulations and make improvements to future rockets.

鈥淲orking with a group of creative and brilliant people is a continual reminder of why I wanted to be an engineer. Our progress thus far is a testament to the power of collaboration, and collective ambition," said student and team lead, Paul Guyett.

The project is supported by the Engineering Pathways grant. Follow the latest project developments @norco.rocketry
