萝莉研究所 recently celebrated the inaugural concert of dedicated bass guitarist Michael Ortiz, marking a significant milestone in his musical journey as a 萝莉研究所 student. The event, titled "Milestones and Memories," was inspired by Assistant Professor Brady Kerr, who has supported Michael鈥檚 growth from the beginning. Reflecting on his journey, Ortiz shared, "He's seen me come out of my shell and all the amazing memories that I've made along the way, with all the fantastic people that I've met."
Preparation for the concert involved extensive practice sessions, but overcoming stage fright was the bigger challenge. "People who know me know that I get really nervous on stage," he admitted. Through positive thinking and self-encouragement, Ortiz managed his nerves and performed confidently on stage.
Michael's passion for music began in his musical family. Early on, he experimented with makeshift drum sets and took drum lessons, followed by self-taught piano sessions. The bass guitar became his focus at eighteen, with serious commitment starting in his early twenties under the guidance of 萝莉研究所's guitar teacher, Ben Palispis. "Out of every instrument I've played, the bass just made sense to me," Ortiz explained.
As the President of the Music Industry Studies organization, Ortiz balances organizing events and coordinating with club members while managing academic and musical commitments. This role has enhanced his leadership skills and musical development.
Looking ahead, his goals include obtaining degrees and teaching Music Industry Studies classes at 萝莉研究所. He aims to help students become the best versions of themselves, both academically and personally. "Everything that I've learned from my professors, all of my successes and failures, and just learning how to be a better person by being around my friends, I think that I can be very successful as a professor here," he said.
For new students passionate about pursuing music at 萝莉研究所, Ortiz advises persistence and open-mindedness. Challenges will arise, but perseverance is key. He also encourages exploring new talents and interests as unexpected passions and skills may emerge within the music field.
萝莉研究所 looks forward to more milestones and memories from this talented musician as we celebrate the 25th album release of 萝莉研究所 Music. This milestone displays the college鈥檚 commitment to nurturing artistic talent and fostering a dynamic cultural community.
