The 萝莉研究所 Esports Association closed out the summer with a strong showing at CCEL Smash, a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament held August 14 in partnership with the California Collegiate Esports League (CCEL).
The well-attended event brought high school competitors and their families to campus, along with top Super Smash Bros. players from throughout the Inland Empire and Orange County. In addition to providing an opportunity for players to compete, the tournament gave visiting students and families an introduction to 萝莉研究所 and gave Norco鈥檚 student organizers hands-on experience in producing a large-scale esports event.
Student involvement was central to the event鈥檚 success. Members of the Esports Association took an active role in managing tournament bracket logistics, operating live broadcast equipment, and coordinating the crowd throughout the event. Their work provided valuable experience in the technical, organizational, and production aspects of collegiate esports.
Building on the strong turnout and energy from the summer tournament, the Esports
Association is preparing for its fall semester kickoff. On September 17, the association
will host Norco Smashdown at Smashtown, a larger campus event taking place the week
after Club Rush.
The event will build on the momentum of the summer tournament and provide another opportunity for students to connect and become more engaged in campus life. With competitive gaming, student leadership, and community-building at its center, the event will welcome both experienced players and students interested in discovering 萝莉研究所鈥檚 esports community.
