During the Fall 2025 semester, 12 students in 萝莉研究所鈥檚 Bio-21 California Naturalist field course earned certification as official California Naturalists, marking a significant achievement in environmental education and stewardship.
Offered each fall, the Bio-21 course follows the curriculum guidelines established by the University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources Environmental Stewards Program. Designed as an immersive field experience, the course takes students beyond the classroom and into Southern California鈥檚 diverse ecosystems, from coastal habitats to inland desert landscapes.
Through weekly field visits, students explore the region鈥檚 uniquely rich flora and fauna while gaining a deeper understanding of ecological systems, conservation practices, and restoration efforts across California. The hands-on format allows students to connect scientific concepts with real-world environmental challenges and solutions.
Students who successfully meet the program鈥檚 criteria earn certification as California Naturalists, joining a statewide network of environmental stewards dedicated to education, conservation, and community engagement. The certification also opens doors to a variety of environmental career pathways, including roles in natural resource management, education, sustainability, and public service.
